Let’s just say I’m not taking a place on it if I get waitlisted

do u know if they have a priority waitlist list or something? I know on their website they said they didn’t but what other process could they use to determine who to admit off the waitlist?

Major, FA requirements, geography, stats, all the things they used to choose the people they accepted already.

It’s not ranked I don’t think, but I’m sure they have candidates they would take over others

we have been pondering whether it’s a good or a bad sign

ughhh that sucks omg but who knows it may be a good thing! im just confused so there has only been acceptances in the first wave?

I think the first was a mix of mostly rejections and acceptances, second was like almost all acceptances, third was all waitlists and rejection, so who knows what the fourth will be

Got declined yesterday around 3pm.

not sure if anyone else got decsions back?

I predict that the rest of us will probably hear next week. My midterm option is gone, so they’re probably done with biweekly? who knows tbh, but it seems a little crazy if they’re going to push initial decisions from April to June

My friend was also waitlisted and she’s not taking it. She told me she felt like this is only going to make the torture longer and she wants to move on to the schools she already got into, while by staying on the waitlist she would constantly think about Vanderbilt and won’t be able to fully commit to the other school. Tbh she has a point.

Yeah idk. I’m not taking a place on the waitlist if I get offered it.

Is it even worth going on the waitlist? I bet they won’t take anyone or accept like one person out of all of us. I was waitlisted first round for Peabody school of education. Vanderbilt is the only school I want to attend too!

I think it also depends what major you’re going for. Are you able to full pay? It is a need-aware waitlist. For a lot of the majors, I’m not sure it’s a wise investment decision to go into debt for the degree. I’m not sure if you’re going for education, but from my perspective, it’s a little pointless to pay the Vanderbilt price for a degree that will get you the same job as someone from, for instance, UMass.

I probably won’t stay on the waitlist if I get put on it. I have a great offer from UNC, thankfully. It’s all a personal choice though. I would consider your reasons for attending Vanderbilt. Is it going to get you opportunities you wouldn’t have elsewhere? If you are an education major, probably not. Are you choosing it for the prestige and name? If so, you gotta reevaluate your priorities for schools. Please note I am not trying to make assumptions about you; I am just proposing my thought processes.
