If you guys say no to Vanderbilt, please update the forum if you can, so us waitlistees can know that there are spots available and hope is alive!
@embellishment @ilikewatermelon @ any other previous transfers willing to provide insight - do you recommend dorming with other transfers or the general student population?
It’s May 18 and I’m still not hearing anything. I applied to CAS and my advisor is Allison Key. So I assume I’m rejected? Or is anyone else on the same boat/ anyone has insight to offer?
@kfellysnena Personally, I would try to live with a mix of transfers and general student population. Ex - my suite was all transfers, but my building was mixed gender and transfer/non-transfer.
@keddies429 Have you been put on the waitlist? If you submitted your application before the priority deadline, you should have heard back by now, right? Giving your advisor a call wouldn’t hurt.
Transferred to vandy last year, let me know if you guys have any questions.
Hi everyone! First time posting on this thread, but I have kept up with it throughout the semester. Luckily, I have been accepted to Vanderbilt, but I will not be attending. I hope that someone on the waitlist can get off. Best of luck to you all!
@Domino44 when were you accepted?
I found out last week Friday, whatever day that was.
So like the 13th or 20th? Thanks for letting us know!
@cmartin12 , I just checked my letter and it says the 13th. I officially declined Vanderbilt’s offer of admissions this morning. I really do hope that many of you are able to get off the wait list.
You are heavenly! Let’s hope!!! I wish the best in wherever you end up attending!
Thank you! That means a lot. Beautiful firebird jump, by the way.
Haha thank you so much! I hope I can dance at Vandy
I would recommend dorming with both. I think other transfers really understand you more than say, Vanderbilt undergraduates who have had the wonderful Commons experience, but still it is good to be in a diverse environment. But I could clearly more empathize with transfers. We have that struggle in common – coming to Vandy a little late.
Nonetheless, transferring to Vanderbilt has been a wonderful experience. I hope you all get in!
fdgjfg did a great job at explaining housing!
Choose a dorm based on your preferences (location, social, quiet/loud, etc)
I just looked at the transfer admissions section of the 2015-16 common data set. It looks like they have enough transfer students enrolled (I’m basing this on the data from 2013-14 and 2014-15). I doubt many of us, if anyone at all, will get off the waitlist now
Hey guys I have a quick question. Is it possible for me to rescind my admissions decision? I visited campus today and it’s not what I expected. Please let me know! If I’m able to, hopefully one of you guys could take my spot.
@KoshJim OMG you didn’t like it! That makes me sad! I hope you at least enjoyed Nashville! You can indeed rescind your decision, I know you can by definitely contacting your admissions counselor and telling her you changed your mind. I just don’t think that you can get your money back but you can indeed drop Vandy.
@cmartin12 Yeah I’m not too big on the South. But I’ve been reading through this thread and you seem like a great person! I’m just waiting to hear back from Cornell about my financial aid, but I’m pretty sure that I will not be attending Vandy. I really hope you’re able to take my spot though. Your clearly passionate about this school and will probably get way more out of it than I ever would.
@KoshJim Thank you so much for notifying the thread and thank you so much for that compliment! I wish you the very best with Cornell or whatever you end up choosing, I’m so sorry Vanderbilt wasn’t what you thought it would be! But yes yes, lol, I am crazy about the school, I’ve grown up around it and it’s all I have ever dreamed about haha.
