From past threads, people have said two weeks. @tuckeditkid
I heard back on my decision last year on Monday, April 6th around 5:30 PM (central time). If I remember correctly, they sent out decisions in waves; I don’t believe these waves correspond with when your application was submitted. Good luck everyone! If you have any last minute questions feel free to ask.
Edit: I don’t believe they sent out rejections during the first wave.
@YayForTransfers Did you get an email? Or did your portal just change?
@cmartin12 I got an email that notified me that a decision was available on my portal. When I opened my portal, it was a page notifying me of my acceptance! I would keep checking your email throughout the day, but if you aren’t accepted during the first wave, don’t lose hope!
I didn’t get anything today so hopefully next Monday?
Yeah
Hey everyone! I know I’m a little late to the thread but I thought I’d hop in.
I won’t post my stats, but I’m a prospective transfer from the Air Force Academy as a Civil Engineering major. I’d likely do Naval ROTC at Vanderbilt (I know it’s a weird shift lol).
How do y’all feel about the large percentage of greek life at Vandy (~40%)? Are y’all interested in rushing?
@usafa19 that’s crazy, I’m applying from a Service Academy as well! I’m definitely interested in rushing too.
Also from an academy. What year are you guys/how are your grades?
I’m a 4*, I had a 3.87 last semester and a 3.90 this one. I’m 35/1340 academically and 64th overall. What academies are you guys?
I’m a sophomore at West Point and have a 3.75.
That’s dope man. Why do you want to leave West Point?
Realized I don’t want to be in the military—how about you? Also, where else did you apply?
I also applied to UVA and Virginia Tech (got admitted). I want to leave because I don’t like the environment or lack of freedom at USAFA. I’m still somewhat open to the military. I came here because my dad came here mainly–was not a good choice. I stuck it out this semester to see if being an upperclassman would be any better, and it’s not, so now I’m going to transfer out.
Awesome man—definitely a good call sticking it out for the whole first year. Best of luck wherever you end up.
Likewise man. Do your classmates treat you any differently since you’re on your way out?
Nah not really—some of my close friends give me sort of a hard time, but it’s really more joking than anything. I have gotten a lot of “transfer somewhere close so I can come visit/party with you” though! I think most of my acquaintance-friends think I’m considering transferring as opposed to definitely leaving. You?
My roommate/best friend is going home for medical turnback and is thinking about leaving instead of coming back too. Generally it’s been the same “I’ll visit and party with you” that you got. I think most cadets/middies understand the desire to leave to some degree.
I would actually look for these decisions to come out mid week… seems the trend is more some where between the 5-8 of April rather than Mondays only. It would be unlikely that they change deadlines for no apparent reason. Maybe an optimistic thought but i could be very wrong.
yeah that’s optimistic, I’ll just hope for that for now! Hopefully people will start posting acceptances soon!
