Vanderbilt? UVa? UNC? WashU? W&L?

As April slowly approaches, I'm becoming increasingly more anxious about college admissions. These five schools, (Vanderbilt, UVa, UNC-CH, WashU, and Washington & Lee), are my top schools with Vandy and UVa being my favorites. Are My Chances good? Should I start to focus more on my backups?

So, do I have a chance?

10charbump!

I think you have strong EC’s, but OOS for UVA and UNC are pretty tough. I know for UVA the acceptance rate for out of staters was 20% as compared to 44% for in state. You definitely have a solid chance for each school though.

thanks for the response!

any other opinions?

I like all of the same schools as well. I am a sophomore, president of my class since 7th grade. Play a sport, do younglife, I am a youth group leader at my church, I do volunteer work, I am on vestry at my school, other leadership program, I am involved in theater (musicals as well as dramas). I go to a difficult private school in the southeast, and four or my five core classes are honors. I have all A’s except I have one C in honors pre-calculus, and I am scared it will ruin my chances of getting in anywhere like that(considering all would be considered out of state except for UVa because my dad is an alum). Do I need to be super worried?

By the way - I think your chances are high. Your GPA and extra curricular activities sound similar to people from my school who have been getting into some great schools.
