Vanderbilt vs. Colgate

I am currently deciding which school to apply to for early-decision. I visited Colgate last spring and loved it. I am also very interested in Vanderbilt. I will be visiting in the fall and I plan on interviewing with my admissions person when he/she visits my HS.
While I like both schools, can someone help me delineate the differences between the schools? I like both campuses and the heavy greek scenes, though Vanderbilt's scene is much more intense; which I don't mind. I am planning on majoring in economics, and I feel that Colgate might be better in terms of job opportunities; Colgate has a very well-connected alumni network and I believe they have the highest representation on wall street.
are these schools out of my league?

legacy at Vanderbilt

Vandy is a very high reach for you, but applying ED and being a legacy might make it possible. I got in RD with a 3.3 (but am URM/first gen) this year, so it’s pretty unpredictable. I’d only recommend applying ED there if you don’t mind giving up a much better shot at Colgate.

thank you, I think i will apply ED to Colgate. I saw admission stats for legacies (17%ED vs ~60%RD) and I think I will apply RD if ED for Colgate doesn’t work out.

You can do ED at Colgate and then Vandy has an ED II option which would allow you to do both if you don’t get into Colgate.
