@penpal11 If you could do that, that’d be great, thanks so much!
@jimchit That sounds like a hectic journey for your daughter! I’m a little afraid to 100% buy into the college I’m currently committed to in case the waitlist comes through, but I’ve already made potential roommates and friends as well. I’m glad your daughter has settled on her choice! I hope to be in that position soon enough. Thank you for sharing
@Cawledgeboundd I don’t think the second wave is out. The first wave had until Tuesday night to secure their spot, so I don’t think that they’d release offers before that deadline.
@PickleMaster I totally understand your thoughts on the Vanderbilt waitlist situation. Prior to getting Admissions results I was hardcore sure that I wanted to go to a private school and applied to many reaches and by miracle got waitlisted to many of them. At that point in time, I committed to Cal and it’s true that Cal was never my first choice but it’s no use regretting decisions and hating on the school I was going to attend. I found ways to loving the school and found roommates, friends, and opportunities that Cal had to offer. When vandy offered me admission off the waitlist, I stressed for two days before ultimately deciding that I couldn’t leave Cal. Many people fall in love with the school they commit to and waitlist admissions throws a hard curveball at that. It was ultimately really hard to click decline on vandys portal and at the time I even regretted it. It’s disheartening to see people express indecisiveness especially to your first choice but it’s incredibly hard to withdraw from our original choice. If you would like help in any way, I’m also a first generation ORM from a pretty lackluster town so cheers to our similarities.
@totoro102 Wow, it’s nice to know there is someone who can relate, thank you for sharing! I’m also in love with the school I’m committed to (otherwise I wouldn’t have applied), but the only concern is the lack of financial aid that I so desperately need. I guess it’s easier for someone like me to make a waitlist decision if I have another incentive like aid but I can see where the indecisiveness comes from. Good luck at Cal though, I wish you nothing but the best!
@godores22 hey guys, thanks for the advice and information, it really has been an absolute pleasure to be waiting in anxiety with all of you. for those interested, i chose to go to biola over vandy. i’m in love with SoCal and the school really was the best fit for me although i was attracted to the prestige and glamour of Vanderbilt. Plus Vanderbilt was about 2.5x the cost of Biola Super excited to attend Biola’s honors program (#1 Great Books program in the country) and love that personalized education that is so rare these days (dean of business school and colleagues personally email and call me to ask if they can do anything to help me out and ask me to go to lunch). Best of luck to all you as i’m sure you will all make the right decision for you.
