Vanderbilt/Xavier/IU (so confused)

Okay so I am very confused on where I should go to school. My top three choices are Vandy (provided that I get in) IU (Indiana) and Xavier. I am interested in double majoring in Spanish and Business and spending one or more semesters abroad (in Spain preferably.)

-IU
-I've been accepted to the Kelley School for direct admission as well as been admitted into the Hutton Honors college. I like the campus and it's close (a couple hours) to my house in Louisville, Kentucky. They have a great Spanish program as well. Also, I get $9,000 off per year for my SAT scores and GPA. (36 K tuition pre-scholarship). In contention for 2 other scholarships as well (one is full ride, one is 5k).

-Xavier
-I've been accepted and granted $16,000 per year off of the total cost (42K). Only 25 % of students travel abroad and they don't have a great business program. Also, I liked the campus (very up-kept and modern) but it's a bit too small for me (7k undergrads).

Vandy
-If I get in, I don't plan on getting any money at all, and they do not have a business school. But come on, it's Vandy. I am in love with Nashville and the campus and the prestige of the degree.

I'm not filling out the FAFSA because my dad doesn't want to (he doesn't think it's worth the time, as he doesn't expect me to receive much need-based aid, if any)

So, if you were me, where would you go?

Thanks guys, I appreciate it a lot.

Vanderbilt. Great weather. Extremely prestigious. Great school social life.

Vandy definitely as long as you can afford it!

Your family should use a FAFSA estimator online. Only takes a minute and will give you an indication if FAFSA is worth filling out. Vanderbilt guarantees to meet 100% of need with a grant, so if your EFC is under 60k you’ll at least get something.

Vandy is 60k (all things included) a year. That’s huge. If your parents are able to comfortably dish that out, then go for it. Keep in mind that the undergrad population is 7k, similar to Xavier. Lack of a “business” major doesn’t really matter. You can major in Econ or HOD at Vandy, as well as pick up a minor in managerial studies. Just as practical as “business.”

If IU ends up being substantially cheaper, I’d say IU. It’s a great school and seems well suited towards your wants/goals.

IU is a wonderful school. Not the academic powerhouse that Vandy is but a degree from Kelley definitely has some oomph and they are well-respected overall. Gorgeous campus and great atmosphere as well.
