Hey guys,

So at a recent college fair, I talked to an grad student (engineering) and he mentioned PAVE and today I just got a brochure for it. Anyways, I was wondering what people who went to it thought of it:

Is it worth the money?

Do Colleges see it as a beneficial thing or do they just see it as one of those money guzzling summer programs that shouldnt affect an app?

Is the experience actually beneficial?

Our son attended it in 2013. He said it was the best summer of his life! We think the letter of recommendation that was submitted by PAVE to his list of colleges helped him as well. They only accept a few hundred students. It is definitely something that can help your son/daughter stand out to an admissions officer on their college application.

@love2bnana thanks for the reply! Just so I get the full scope of the program though, do you know of any drawbacks of the program? It’s a tiny bit expensive so I want to know whether it is THE place to go or not

Our son liked it so much that our younger son applied for this summer - 2015. The only drawback is it is a 5 week program. However, it use to be a 6 week program. They have a lot of fun on the weekends.

@Zeppelin7 - Did you decide to go to PAVE this summer?
@love2bnana I was definitely considering it. I decided against it though because of other possibilities of things to do in the summer which I felt were more beneficial to me.
