Vandy, Duke (or other)??

FIRST I KNOW DUKE VANDY AND WAKE ARE ALL VERY SIMILAR AND THERE ARE ABOUT 1000 THREADS ON THE THREE

I am not sure if I should apply ED to Vandy or Duke (and possibly Wake Forest although probably not)

I like both Vandy and Duke for different reasons and I have my pros/cons of both but I think I'd be happy at both.
Question: Do I apply ED to one since I think I'll be happy at either? Or do I apply RD to Duke, vandy, wake + my other schools (USC, miami, stanford etc) which I think Id also like--maybe as much as duke/vandy.
I would like to apply ED to a school just to get the college process over earlier/less stressfully
Do you guys think its worth it to wait till RD or should I just choose 1 of the 2 for ED? thanks!

My stats: no financial aid needed
I have legacy at Duke but nothing at vandy
Weighted Academic GPA- 3.85/4.00 (top 15% of class)
SAT: 1390 (700 math, 690 CR, 730 W)- retaking in oct
ACT: 31
SAT 2- chem/math 2- 680 (i know both low)

APs: Chem, Micro/Macro econ, enviro, calc AB and AP span lang.

main ECs: Varsity baseball (2 yrs)/ varsity Soccer (3 yrs)
Umpire coordinator for Little League- paid job to organize/schedule umpires for the local league
Volunteer medical response technician- ride on ambulance- 100+ hours
working on science project on primate intelligence- entering siemens/intel

please help people!

Why not apply EA (nonbinding) to someplace matchier/safetier, then apply to the rest RD?

Daughter at Duke

my dd at Vandy - so I'm a bit biased - and I don't get the comparisons between Vandy & Duke because I think they are very different. Vandy's new freshman campus - The Commons - is definitely a huge plus over Duke's ugly freshman campus.

I would only do ED if you are 100% sure that you will be happy at that school. Hard to believe, but how you feel now and what you may think 6 mths from now can be 2 different things. Also, think about how you will feel if you get deferred to the RD list - will that turn you off that school, even if they want you in the spring?

Also, make sure you look at current admissions info on Vandy's last class - they continually are getting more selective, as they are attracting more top applicants. I'm not saying you can't get in, but I believe it's wise to be educated

yeah i definitely understand- yes the vandy dorms for freshman are way nicer- but im afraid of applying RD and getting rejected by both. and theyre my two favorite schools so far

and by similar i just meant southern highly ranked schools with d1 sports-
