VANDY ED1ers Group

Hey guys, thought we're all kind of in the same boat with the oh-so-fun wait/nerves etc, so maybe a thread where we could ask questions/post decisions/make the time pass faster would be fun. I'm personally not going to post my stats (I understand this is very unheard of on CC- im kind of new) because I don't want to feel shut down/dejected or overconfident before i get my decision then be disappointed, and I can't change them at this point anyway LOL. But if others want to post stats, go for it. Only about a month! Good luck to you all!

Roughly 3 weeks from today, good luck everyone! I applied RD last year and was wait-listed. we’ll see if ED1 and better essays and recs will do it!

Hey, I applied ED, and the wait is killing me haha. Would you guys mind if you chanced me? My stats are in a different thread: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/vanderbilt-university/1245675-low-test-scores-chance-me.html

Agreed with above post, the wait’s killing me ><.

Will they still reply to you if you got denied? Or will you just not get one?

Also, how are they going to tell us? Good ol’ snail mail? Or email?

Vanderbilt uses snail mail and if things are still the same as 3 years ago, they send ALL decisions in a regular size envelope - no big package. The admitted kids get the package later. Don’t be upset by the small envelope. The Vandy blog should post this information along with updates on a mailing date as the time nears

its coming! does anyone know if they tend to mail the decisions a little bit before december 15th? so antsy… who here is from new york?

So nervous! Last year they sent out letters on the 14th.

good luck to each and every one of you! Your college years will be golden whether or not they are in Nashville…keep that thought forefront, because it is true. Neither of my sons attended their senior year fall term choice/dream college and both are extremely happy.

does anyone know how many people applied ED1 to vanderbilt? usually the NYT publishes it but vandy was left off the list this year. does anyone have an idea/know if it was higher or lower than last/other years? -cameron

watch the official vanderbilt admissions blog. They will post complete ED1 and ED 2 stats, but they don’t tend to release early. You can find last years numbers in December '10 there

its going to be terrible that since december 15th is a thursday, most of us that don’t live in the south probably won’t hear until the following monday.

I might be wrong about this but I think in past years they’ve mailed on that tuesday, so it gets to a lot of people around thursday/friday. I don’t think they have a set mailing day so it could be before the 15th, could be after. So nervous… a few of my friends find out this week so waiting is going to suck…

i hope that is true. i have a lot of friends hearing this thursday, going to make it soo much worse

DS applied ED1, so getting a little anxious around here. Good luck to all of you!

so nervous. this is a reach school for me pretty much so i’m preparing for the worst but still hoping for the best! good luck to everyone. i just want them to send out the decisions already!!

when you guys say that some of your friends find out this week, did they have some sort of special application or something along those lines?

hi everyone (: i’m applying ed 1 as well! fingers crossed for all of you

i meant my friends that applied to other schools that release decisions this week as opposed to next. Yeah reach for me too I’m just hoping that by some miracle i’m accepted

Does anyone have an idea on when they will mail the decisions and can you tell if you’ve been accepted or declined by the size or envelope of the piece of mail?

i heard from a few sources that all ed decisions are put into regular sized envelopes but i might be mistaken
