Um - really? How about you reread my post - I said I got it in MO, meaning I received the letter. By NO means would I ever do that - so I do realize that it’s his moment because he’s worked his fanny off for this. And he DID get accepted - I couldn’t get into CC for hours. It said the server was down. I even wrote out his stats, but that’s when it threw me off.
Classof2012 girl - sorry for the sting, but your outlook will take you far!
Good luck to all of you who are still waiting!

^ Congrats! Could you post his stats again plz?

If there’s anything I left out, just ask.
He’s not the valedictorian by any means, but more the “well-rounded”

Congrats for your son Boymom!

Sorry 2012Girl It sounds like you were really passionate about Vandy and deserved this.

Can’t wait for tomorrow!

Congrats to you and your son, sorry about the rudeness, the stress must be getting to me!

are you a minority by any chance?

^^ No worries - I get it I know the waiting is rough & some of you are in the middle of finals. DS spent his evening at the library, he wouldn’t even go to dinner to celebrate.
We are still waiting to hear how a friend did - she didn’t get her letter today, either. DS is a little stressed over that. I will be thinking about you all tomorrow & will check in to see how everyone ended up. DS said he’s following the thread to read about his future classmates. Again, good luck to you all!

I’M SO ANTSY AND ANXIOUS! The fact that I have my last final tomorrow does not help in the slightest…

Class of 2012 girl not to use a cliche but things happen for a reason. Vandy isn’t the place for you but another school is and it might not even be one you got into. My son didn’t even pick his current school until mid December it wasnt even on his radar and he applied on dec 31…he ended up at a better school than his dream school… Go through the list one more time you will end up in the right
place!

Congrats boymom I’m sure ur son deserves it
Ad sorry classof2012 but u will find ur school

@boymom, is your son a legacy or anything? Does he have a sibling attend vandy? I have similar stats and I’ve convinced myself there is no way I’m getting in. You must have a hook!

Congratulations boymom and son - he will love Vandy!!

I really hope my son gets his letter today! He has very similar stats as your son and I would also describe him as a solid, well rounded kid but certainly not a superstar (by CC standards) with perfect test scores and a 4.0+ GPA. Will post after the mail arrives - many hours from now!

I really don’t think u need a hook ellebelle. I mean the 25-75% is 30-34 so a 30 on act really is only the 25%. So it is still a reach but a low one. Correct me if you did have a hook boymom

I think he is a kid that showed his grades & scores improve, dedication to his school involvement with leadership positions and solid essays. I’m sure his recs were great.
The alum who interviewed him is a neighbor. Forgot to mention he has his own business - lawn service.
I guess whoever read his app just dug him And someone has to have the 30s - or they’d be full of perfect stat kids.

welcome to Vandy parentworld, boymom5, and congratulations on your son’s happiness. the admissions staff must have indeed “dug” your son. He can do the work at Vandy even with the lower end test score.

crossing my fingers for my old Vandy parent friend dwhite, hopes that her second child can join the first born at Vandy…

neither my Vandy or Duke son’s outcomes and final choices were anything like we originally chose, expected or hoped for …so everyone stay open-hearted. Vandy is a great university but it is not the only place to get a fine education with fine people in the country…not at all.

Faline2 - So very sweet of you!! No mail yet but I will post when we know. Thank you!:)

Accepted this morning! Chased down my mailman and got the letter! So happy
