OK that is reassuring. Does anyone know how seriously the admissions office values connections?

Hey guys!
I go to a rigorous private school in Philadelphia, PA
My stats are:

Community Service Club, Spanish Club, Green Club
I design/alter costumes for Theater
I am a writing center peer tutor (chosen by teachers) (academic tutor)
Interned at Susan G. Komen for the Cure over the summer
Varsity Crew Captain
AP classes: few offered at school, however last year I took six majors, including one AP. This year I am taking three more APs - I have 5 majors this year plus electives, all A’s except one A-
-Two teacher recs and one rec from the CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure Philadelphia

what do you think??!

I’m applying with 2 other kids from my school, both probably have better GPAs but slightly worse SATs and far worse ECs. But they’re applying A&S and I’m applying Peabody so it should not be a factor.

any PAVE alumni here?

Any parents at home today stalking the mailman? Was rereading the blog on the admissions page & feeling quite uneasy…He was only one from his school (that usually takes a few each year) that applied ED1, but just feeling really anxious today…

^^I went out all morning in order to get my mind off this whole thing - home now and am feeling anxious too! The blog was certainly intimidating and we are not very optimistic about S2’s chances. I thought the blog made it seem they only admitted very high stat kids so I think his chances are slim. He knew it was a reach but he really does love it so he gave it a shot.

Anyway, I don’t think we will receive anything until tomorrow or Friday.

Good luck to everyone!

i know how you feel dwhite that blog made me so nervous. i don’t think i have the slightest chance at this point…

Remember whoever hears in the next few hrs to update the blog with decision and stats

Why is the mailman 2 hours late? Is it torture for torture’s sake?

you sound more stressed than the kid whose going to college, relax it will come when it will come. I’m with you tho, I wish they would just email the decisions so I can get it out of my mind.

has anyone gotten a letter yet?

Nothing today…bummer. Another 24 hours to keep busy & he’s going to wear his Vandy tshirt until he hears :)

i wonder if anyone from tn got anything

I’m not expecting anything until Friday.

I’ve prepared myself for the worst. The blog sounded like they didn’t let that many people in. If TN didn’t get there’s today it’ll be Friday for me at the earliest

Yeah. The main problem is that Vanderbilt knows it can lure many kids away from Duke/Penn RD because of it’s generous financial aid program. They can afford to turn a lot of us away ED I.

Funny how we’re the kids who ACTUALLY really want to go there. So unfair.

^ I agree completely. Oh well, just 2 days left…

2 days? I thought the 15 is when the letters will arrive, so 1 day I hope

They send them priority USPS right?
