Vandy makes a move on top faculty

The strides Vanderbilt has made in the last few years have been remarkable. The acceptance rate has dropped from 60% to 31% (27% for Arts and Science for class of 2010) in about six years due to the huge surges in applications. According to the common data set, for A&S the SAT score ranges (25%-75% percentile) were between 1300 - 1470. Diversity continues to improve (last year African American applicants are up 16 percent and Asian applicants are up 22 percent). The construction of the Ben Schulman center has also helped increase the Jewish population from 3% to 10% in only a couple years. Moreover, due to the large increases in apps from the Northeast and West less than half of undergraduates are from the South. The new Student Life Center and residential college system will also likely have a positive influence on campus. I am glad Gee left Brown because I feel he is partly responsible for Vanderbilt's steady increase in the rankings.

I attribute this totally and completely to Jay Cutler.

Yeah....

Cutler is the man

bahaha.....jay cutler attracts top notch applicants....i can agree with that

Good for Vanderbilt.

Jay Cutler is great and all, but it seems he could never get over the hump and earn a freakin' winning season. Last fall was a thrill though.
