Hey, I will be attending the local state college in the fall, but really want to transfer as fast as I possibly can. I applied to Vandy for freshman admission, but was rejected. However, seeing how high the transfer acceptance rate is I got a smidgeon of hope! I'm going to apply there as a transfer. My stats are listed below, any advice as to what to improve and how to do it? Any advice as to WHAT to do to help?

Class Rank: 17/282 (top 6%)
GPA: 3.79
Honors: Every one has at least an A in it, and i have taken 5

i would say just work for all a’s at college and you should really be fine. I’m transferring this year, and your information is somewhat similar to mine. Also, Im not sure if you have seen the other Vanderbilt transfer thread, but there have been others admitted to the school with stats farrrrr below what yours are. Just write an exceptional essay and cross your fingers- good luck!

I think that you’ll have a decent shot. I think that the transfer acceptance rate will decrease next year due to the financial aid program. Your SAT scores are pretty low, though.

Do you think the acceptance rate is going to drop alot? I hope not, but I heard transfer rates usually stay around the same. When do the stars for the transfers come out? Also, I’ve taken the says three times and the acts twice…on the act I went from a 21 to a 25, so hopefully I go up more if I retake them again…any suggestions? Also does it matter If I retake them while I’m in college?

i dont think it matters how many times youve taken the test, or when, you only have to send one. (but then again, where im from the SATs arent a big focus- i never took them. so im not sure about that one.) but what are “the stars for the transfers…”…??
