Vandy Transfers for Fall 2007!!

I know there are some folks hanging out in the "Transfer Chat" forum, but I thought it would be nice to get a thread going over here.

Please include whether or not you have recieved a letter, when you recieved it, what is all included in it, what school you're leaving from, what year you will be transfering into (sophomore or junior), and if you've officially decided to attend Vandy.

We should get some Vandy transfer spirit going!

Mal :)

Thanks for starting this! I have not received my letter yet, but my cousin has (she lives in Nashville though). I called today, and they transferred me to my admissions counselor, who said a decision had not been reached on my application yet.. But (hopefully) I will be a sophomore transfer from Ole Miss (University of Mississippi)!

I am at Georgia Tech and I have tried really hard to transfer. This is definitely the one school that I know that I will love. I visited it almost six times this past year to visit my friends, but the atmosphere was incredible. I haven't received any notification as of yet, but I was told that my counselor will tell me when she gets back into the office. I am a little worried about this semester's grades though...linear algebra and computer programming are kicking my butt...

I know that I'm in (learned from my admissions contact, and was in kind of weird situation anyway) but I haven't recieved a packet yet. I'm transferring from Ohio University, and seriously cannot wait for Vandy next year! I hope that you guys get in!! I'm not sure whether I'll be a sophomore or junior next year cause I don't know how many of my classes will transfer, but at this point I honestly don't care, lol. Let me know when you learn anything!
Mal :)

Did it say that your decision depended solely upon your grades this semester? I think that I may get a C but it's in a hard class (engineering weed-out classes...), and I don't know whether it is a yes or no...I guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I was told that my admission was "contingent upon my continued academic success" for the year, or something along those lines. So...be careful!!! :)

a counselor told me that they had not made a decision yet, but they were trying to finish everything asap...

cowboy,
did they tell you when you should call back?
NPL

one of them told me next week but i'm probably calling friday...they said they send the letters in waves each friday so she said that hopefully she would have the decision made by then

Awesome!! Thanks for the info. I'm going to call tomorrow and see if my letter/packet/whatever is getting sent! Seriously, I'm going to be praying for you guys! :)

cowboy, are you transferring to vandy to pursue an engineering major too? if so, which one?

i am a biomedical engineering and economics double major at georgia tech. i am going to try to do both at vandy but bme is the main thing because i heard CAS is super hard to get into

It is difficult to transfer into the College of Arts and Science, but you are coming from Georgia Tech and in a difficult major. I would not expect them to view you the same way as a psychology major at UGA, whom I imagine would need a higher GPA. Double majoring in BME and Econ is impressive. The only engineering double majors I know around here, pick up math because it only takes a few more courses.

I was told today that they made a decision on my application but they would not tell me over the phone...i talked to a counselor over IM when he told me that but i think that they said it should be in my mailbox today or tomorrow

fingers crossed and praying

Did anyone else hear back yet?

nope, checked the mail today...nothing yet.

I called today and the guy never called me back... :( Wait, wait, wait I guess!

The lady said they sent everything out, but they can't tell me over the phone until one week after they mailed it (which would be last friday). So, I am just checking my mail three or four times a day. no joke.

so cowboy, does that mean every decision has been sent out/made by now?

no, npl just that they finished mine. they said they would probably be working into the beginning of may. you can call and see if it has been completed or look up the admissions people and IM them. they send the decisions every friday apparently
