I have been accepted to these schools and i am having a hard time deciding between them. I live in atlanta and UGA is the natural choice with a very low cost. Is it worth five times the price at UGA to go to Vanderbilt or Georgetown or even twice as much to go to UNC?

What do you want to study?

if you want international studies in any form, then Georgetown is DEFINITELY worth it...aside to that, it really depends on your major and monetary situation.

probably business in some form or another

Did you apply to Gtown's business school?

i know this is completely off topic, but i'm a high school student and a writer. i'm looking for creative writing programs to attend during the upcoming summer, and i was wondering if anyone knew of such a program at vandy. i have a long family history at vanderbilt and have grown up planning to attend the university myself, and i figure that attending summer programs might help me during the admissions process.. so, if anyone knows about a creative writing program, let me know! thanks so much!

yes i applied to the business school

Well, i don't know how this translates to undergrad departments, but for grad schools in busniess Gtown is 34th, Georgia is 47th and Vandy is 49th according to US News.
I'm pretty sure that of those 4 schools Gtown has the better business program, but i don't know if it is worth the extra $. That is up to you and your family. Also think about the environment and size you want your school to be, b/c those could help you decide. good luck

Unless you're very very well off with money, UGA is the clear cut choice. With the HOPE scholarship (which you definitely got) UGA would only cost you 5-6K a year!! Even with some scholarships at the other schools, I imagine they would all be around 20+K if you're lucky (unless your EFC is low) which is FOUR times as much as UGA! I don't care how good the programs are at those other schools, but they're all somewhat comparable to UGA overall, and UGA's a school that's getting more and more competitive every year. Unless we're talking about the likes of Duke, Stanford, Yale, Harvard, etc (which we're not) then there is absolutely NO reason to pay so much for Vandy, GTown, or UNC over an unbeatable price at Georgia. Are Vandy, GTown, and UNC very good schools? No doubt about it. Are they worth 4-8 times the price? Hell no.
