<p>So..what are my chances?</p>

<p>I'm a junior right now. If my ECs aren't up to snuff, I'm going to make a gameplan for this summer.</p>

<p>My GPA is a 4.0 unweighted and a 4.3089283423 (not sure of the exact number but it's something like 4.308) whatever, weighted. So I've challenged myself when it comes to courses.</p>

<p>ACT is a 31 first time through. Re-taking. Going to raise it I'm sure.</p>

<p>SATs are up and coming.</p>

<p>Rank is a 21 out of I believe over 400 kids.</p>

<p>I've taken piano for 10 years.
I have received a Superior rating (highest) in KMTA piano competition for two years in a row and participated in it for all three years.
I went to TMTA (state competition) in piano.
I have received a superior rating in the Federation piano competition for three years.
Superior rating in Guild Festival (just another piano thing)</p>

<p>Cello lessons - three years
Junior Clinic for Strings - 9th
All-State Senior Clinic for Strings - 10th and 11th</p>

<p>Diversity Club
Gay-Straight Alliance Club
Art Club
Habitat for Humanity
Recycling Club</p>

<p>This summer I'll get A LOT of community service for National Honors Society.
Also volunteering in a program at my local children's hospital (there was an application process and I was chosen). It's called "Volun-Teens" and it is four hours a day for two weeks.</p>

<p>Youth Leadership Blount (only 4 students chosen from my school).</p>

<p>I did make it into two governor schools - Emerging Technologies and Music. But my grandparents are both fading...so I can't go due to family reasons which is upsetting :/</p>

<p>I have spent countless hours (really countless) playing my cello/piano for my community. The elderly, children, banks, offices, hospitals, etc. for all my high school years.</p>

<p>I think my college essay will be pretty brilliant because not only am I good at writing, my biggest mentor is an english teacher who wants to help me. Also, I have had a very interesting life so far. Saying I have a lot to write about is an understatement. I can elaborate if you really want me to.</p>

<p>I haven't done as much as I can...but I hope this is enough.</p>

<p>How does your GPA show you have challenged yourself? For all we know you took the easiest classes at the school and got 100s in all of them.</p>

<p>I have taken Advanced Honors/Honors/AP next year. They only offer 5 AP, one of them being Spanish (didn’t take Spanish!).</p>

<p>Should I mention that I’m a minority? Lebanese-American. I just read somewhere that it is helpful to mention that.</p>

<p>I live in Knoxville, TN. Basically, I just want an idea of how good my chances are at Vandy. And then maybe a match of a school that is within 3-4 hours by car away from my hometown.</p>
