Varsity athletics?

<p>Hi,
i've been playing tennis for 6 years now (1 gap year in the middle), and i'm pretty good at it!But haven't participated in many competitions because of school?
So i would like to continue tennis in college but don't know if it's the varsity athletics choice that i have to tick in the application beccause it lokks like something more serious(independant apllication/recruitment)</p>

<p>PS;Yes i'm an international and have never heard of varsity athletics or intramural or whatever!!</p>

<p>Varsity is the highest level of sports involvement in college and is typically for those with competitive backgrounds in the sport. Varsity teams travel to meet other schools. </p>

<p>If you are just interested in playing tennis while at MIT, that would be intra-mural not varsity.</p>
