Varsity?? How to get in...

My brother is ranked top 10 tennis in the country... we got a national ranking here. He is an international, so he has no contact with any coaches..

So what should he do? call the coaches? He is a freshmen at the moment...
He is also one of the top students of his age..get very strong grades
is valedictorian and just started prepping for the SAT...

How can he be recruited for a top college?

he's got some time as a freshman, but next year, he should start emailing coaches with his bio...but first he needs to make a target school list...D1 vs D3, does he want money? (don't count on anything but an admissions edge), location, etc.

I am a bit confused, is he top 10 in the USA...if so , I would assume he has been in enough competition to grab a scouts attention

so, if the tournaments are in the papers, etc, get a portfolio going so he has the back up and can create a resume

He is top 10 in the Netherlands....
what should be in the portfolio?

achievements, ranking (official) so on and so forth

he is a freshman and already valedictorian? how'd he snatch that after one year of school?

Put together a video

I think students with a good USTA ranking can get recruited, but I don't know about the Netherlands. Do you have a tennis ranking system there?

yes he is at this moment ranked 7th

And he is not exactly a freshmen.. he is a freshmen in US terms, but actually he is in the third year of the six year high school course

I'll try to ask my daughter's tennis coach this week. His daughter attends college on a tennis scholarship.
