<p>I wonder if that's a factor of the huge roster size of a football team. The bigger the group, the easier it is to get lost, or kind of hang on for the ride. My kids' hs doesn't have cuts for football, either, although some kids hardly ever see the field. The best athletes, meanwhile, play on both sides of the ball...</p>
<p>see we only 2 guys play both ways so we use a lot of guys and defense and offense are really split up so it would make me mad when kids would never contribute on the scout team cuz i always did when i was a jr and didn't play a lot...</p>
<p>It is when that desire to be the best is vested in vanity and self-interest, rather than a natural desire to fulfill one's potential that the resulting arrogance drags down the tide, rather than raising it.</p>
