Maybe I missed it, but I can't find anything on here about sports. How hard is it to play on a varsity sports team and still be able to do well in an engineering program?

Two of my good friends in Materials were on the football team, with a third having the team after two years due to a nagging injury. I know they had fairly difficult time commitments, but two of them still managed to double major in biomedical engineering and have >3.5 GPAs.

You’re on a Division III team, so it’s understood that academics come first. I remember I took a racquetball class one term which was taught by the football coach. He said on the first day he understood all of us were there because we wanted to, and he understood if we skipped a class or two due to other commitments such as a test following class (nobody wants to be stinky & sweaty during a tough exam) or up late the previous night working on problem sets.
