Officially down to only the Vassar decision left. Heard good news from Bryn Mawr and Smith today. Really hope it’s soon!

Same re: Bryn Mawr— didn’t apply at Smith. Waiting for Vassar. Good luck to all!

D21 got $30,000 merit scholarship for the Conservatory. Was able to get a couple thousand more by negotiating because another school gave her a better package.

That’s good to know ! Thanks !

D waitlisted at smith. Can I ask stats?

3.9 unweighted GPA, 1410 SAT, her short essay for Smith was insanely good, I suspect that made the difference

Is Vassar definitely today? if so does anyone know what time?

Was there an email saying it was today?

Someone further up said it was today via a source on social media? Or maybe it was a reference to Wesleyan?

Is this for Vassar?

It was a reference to Wesleyan. They clarified in a later post. I don’t think Vassar has said anything yet about when decisions will be out.

I think there’s a good chance of results coming today. I was admitted EDI this year and I checked my portal yesterday. There, I found that my decision letter had updated with some new information, and it now said that I was chosen for one of “685 spots” out of “more than 11,000 applicants.” Today, I checked my portal again, and now my letter is gone - can’t find it anywhere! So, I think the admission’s office is, at the very least, gearing up for a release.

That would suggest around a 19 pct acceptance rate, which is same as last year
 they accepted 2,126 last year.

Do they ever announce on Sundays or do we have to wait for after the weekend now?

AFAIK we are in the purgatory before hell or heaven - for an undermined period of time.

Sorry, just saw your reply. It was Wes. Sorry to be confusing!

Also, just reading what you wrote on the Brown thread. I think it’s a very tumultuous year. Acceptance percentages seem to be dropping like flies over the past couple years, applications through the roof. It’s all far more competitive than a few years ago. Even if you adjust for kids each applying to more schools, there are also just more high achieving kids period. Also, some schools over-enrolled lats year. It’s nutty.

My kid’s progress has been all over the place – rejects at some top schools then in at safeties: state flagship and mid tier LAC, then suddenly in at Northwestern, now at Wes. Thought she would be far more likely for Middlebury than NU because she had connected w/ the dept chair at Midd who gave her theatre supplement their highest marks and offered to meet w/ her on zoom. Then spent 40min w/ her. But then they waitlisted her. So strange. But, right now, I am glad she went into this feeling good about all her choices, even safeties (so much so, they are still on the list).

Hope your will have some tough choices (in a good way) when this is all done!
