Vassar chances?

Soooo i applied ED to Vassar and decisions come out Thursday. To say I’m freaking out is an understatement. I know there’s nothing I can do to improve my chances at this point but I just wanted to get a second (third, fourth, fifth…thousandth) opinion on them  I’m a caucasian female from NY.

ACT: 33 (35 eng, 33 math, 33 reading, 31 sci, 8 essay)
SAT II: chem-770
UW gpa: 3.6 (school doesn’t do weighted)–the part of my app that’s stressing me out, it’s definitely on the lower side
Junior yr classes: AP Chem (3) AP Latin (2–NOT SENDING) AP English Language (5), honors precalc, honors french, and reg. us history
Senior yr classes: AP Bio, AP Government, AP Stat, AP French, English 12R (couldn’t take AP Lit because it didn’t fit on my schedule, had my guidance counselor explain in rec that I got in but couldn’t take it)
Extracurricular: 4H member, Newspaper - Science Editor, Latin Club - Vice President, French Club - Treasurer, Film Club, Math Team member, NHS, French Honors Society, captain of school swim team, and member of another usa swim team.
Work experience: Lifeguard for 2 years
Did some Summer programs including a 4-week mathematical modeling camp at Mercy College and a week-long physics camp at SUNY Stonybrook
I’ve also been in touch with Vassar’s swim coaches who told me that I’m on the recruit list.
Also did an interview after I submitted my app that I think went well. I spent a good hour chatting with my interviewer at Starbucks.
In addition to these, I had a recommendation written for me by a Vassar alumna I know.

I thought Vassar didn’t do evaluative interviews?

@nainar the interview was basically a one-on-one info session where I got to ask someone who graduated a couple of years ago about the school, but she said she’d write me a good recommendation so I think they still take it into consideration at least a little bit.

everything here seems decent you should be ok for Vassar? like more than 60% can you give me some background on your school?

@genevieveeeees it’s a pretty small public school (about 200 kids in my grade), somewhat competitive. I have NO idea what my rank is though.

that’s like my school lolol I think you will be ok!! ECs show commitment, great ACT score… GPA is on the low side, but you have all these extracurriculars you are deeply involved in, therefore the admissions officer should be able to make a correlation between slightly low gpa and a bunch of good ecs. I went to visit Vassar last summer and a thing they really stressed was “I’d rather have you deeply involved in 2-3 activities than do a bunch”. So if you aren’t THAT involved in Film Club I wouldn’t mention it on your app. overall you look good, now it’s just kind of about luck haha

Did you get accepted?

@BlueNerdBird sorry this is sooooooo late but no i didn’t

haha Thats ok and I’m sorry to hear that :frowning:
