Vassar Class Of 2012 Regular Decision

Congrats to everyone who was accepted thus far! To those who were rejected, best of luck with the other schools to which you applied. To those still waiting or waitlisted, best of luck as well.

Just wanted to suggest that everyone post their stats in this post (as the postmaker asked) as well as whether they were accepted, waitlisted, or rejected. A post like this can be surprisingly helpful for those interested in applying next year and curious about what sort of scores and activities had what results attached to them :).

D was rejected; it was her first choice but she has lots of backup options, so life is still good

Im very happy i got accepted, my SATs are kind of low for a school like Vassar, but i am proof you don’t need to have amazing scores to be accepted to a top notch school like vassar.

Does any body knows the statistics for this year admissions? I mean, how many applied, how many got in…

ThaisCarreira, Vassar’s website says they admitted 23.9% this year.

Thanks Izzy.

male admitted!
however, there was nothing about financial aid in the packet and i applied for aid so i dont really get it.

the website says..

Completed Applications

7361

Total Admitted

1758

% Admitted

23.9%

I don’t know if I’ll be going, but it’s likely, because I got depressingly thin envelopes from amherst and swarthmore today, and now I’m just waiting on brown, which i’m doubting i’ll get into…
and yes…the poster is incredible
it made me very excited and “oooooh pretty”. haha.

7361 is more than usual, right?

Financial aid awards are mailed next week.

A friend and I are both waitlisted but whatever. I’m happy with Middlebury and Georgetown so far. But if possible, I’d like to ask why I was waitlisted. I thought the essays were all well written, especially the “why vassar” one. mm
