I got rejected but got into Amherst. It doesn’t completely make sense to me but I guess the college admissions process truly is subjective. Congrats to everybody who got in!!!
Daughter waitlisted. That is OK though. Heartfelt best wishes for those who were declined in this process–really hard to figure out who gets accepted and why. My daughter is currently trying to decide between two schools that are her top choices (different coasts) but have little aid and a second choice with much aid, hope the campus visits make things more clear. The whole thing even though it has gone relatively well is very wearing and ready to be done!
I’m in!
Lol waitlisted but I got an early write from Amherst??
@taku00 same haha
Woohoo I got in!
yay waitlisted
Accepted!!!
ACT: 33C (35E, 32R, 33S, 32M)
GPA: 4.42W
Super excited to possibly be going here next year & congrats to everybody else who got in!
Congrats everyone! Is there a portal where we can see financial aid awards?
D accepted but I’m feeling sad reading about those who are disappointed. This process is so stressful and I feel for you. D has had some great results but the financial aid piece is what is most challenging for us. I’m trying to have faith that something good will work out.
Congrats to all accepted students! D got rejected. We’re OK with it. Has received a few good options with scholarships. Going to go to one more accepted students day and then decision time!!
Rejected but kinda glad cuz I’m already perplexed by my options. Wesleyan, Richmond, or W&M?
Accepted! I’ve loved this school for a long time and it’s in my top two for sure.
Try not to be too hard on yourself. It sounds like there are other options. I often think these things turn out for a reason. Our daughter was also WL, despite having numerous conversations with the coach in her sport. She never visited bc we live to far away. She luckily has a number of other choices with merit. I think it is all about fit, rather than ranking of the school.
Accepted! 3.79 UW 4.42W, 1410 SAT, very unique essay and good supplement helped. Also Eagle Scout and some other leadership stuff- You don’t have to do 13 ECs to get into college lol
nmocha567: Please don’t be hard on yourself. It sounds like there will be other options like U of Richmond. Our daughter was also waitlisted despite having a number of conversations with the coach of her chosen sport. Her stats are similar to your. She did not visit bc we live too far away. She luckily has other options with aid. To me, it is not about the ranking or prestige of the school, but all about fit. Hang in there.
Accepted. 33 act 4.0 full IB. Very excited.
@ the people who got accepted and didn’t post your stats, would you be able to? thanks!
Rejected.
SAT<1950.
High school scores above 90%
Great recommendations.
Great essays.
Sister is a current student.
Hmmm
I already have 7 rejections from Liberal Arts Colleges and I know that my SAT score and the fact that I applied for aid as an international are the biggest factors why.
This is so disappointing because I’m just really not a good test taker because I freak out and mess up and just happen to need aid. All year I’ve been hearing about just how much my sister loves the place, I’ve never been to the US but I know every nook and corner of Vassar and all its professors.
Obviously, I know that the most deserving and the most qualified students have got in. And congratulations to you all! But I’m still so disappointed because I do believe that I didn’t deserve so many rejections just because of those two factors.
