<p>I’m basically posting this both so you can get a better understanding of who I am since I’ve been a lurker on vassar cc posts, lol & also bc I’m so shocked seeing all of your amazing resumes that I got accepted!</p>

I’ve taken A.P. Global (3), A.P. U.S. (2), A.P. English Language (3) and taking A.P. Literature & Calculus this May.

[ *] Job/Work Experience: Emilio’s Pizzeria, local pizzeria for 2 summers and then junior yr summer I took up an environmental collaborative job internship in which I restored hillsides along the Hudson River & took a Botany college course
[ *] Essays (subject and responses): Above all (after commending intelligence & a challenging course load, of course), Vassar appreciates quirkiness, creativity & unconventionality. I think my essay’s what did it, and not even because it was amazingly well written as it was clever. I made a mock diary entry to address how open I am with the public that I’d let anyone read my diary and how i opened the poetry club to have members express themselves.
vassar supp. essay was abt. my overnight stay, compared to other essays I’ve read on random sites, my essay was nothing compared to theirs ! But it was concise and well-written (only bc I edited it abt. a kagillion times, lol paranoia helps sometimes.)
[ *] Your Space Entry: Another thing that I believe helped make my application more appealing. Throughout my entire application, I basically showed that I am a writer and that I’ve always had a passion for writing in all of its forms. For the Your Space entry, I made a compilation of my writings through out the years , separated in 3 sections: My Past, My Present, & My Future.
For My Past, I literally sent them a raggedy, coffee-stained and terribly written little book I wrote when I was 4. It was cute though lol I wanted to show how I’ve always written and wanted to write. I also sent in a short poem I wrote when 10 and a random page of a book I wrote when 11.
My Present: a journalism article I wrote & a recent poem abt. my childhood
My Future: I printed out the Miscellany News cover and made a mock journalism article beginning w/ the title “Girl From the Bronx Anxiously Awaits Vassar Notification Letter” & wrote that I’d love to write for the Helicon & Miscellany News.
[ *] Teacher Recs: I didn’t see any, but one teacher I had for 2 yrs for English AND is the one who supervises my Poetry Club meetings, & the other, my Algebra II and A.P. Calculus teacher, is said to give great recommendations.

<p>[ b]General Comments/Congratulations/Venting/Commiserations,etc: [ /b] Bluewind330, as creepy as this may sound, I’ve seen your posts on the EDII thread and I now see your credentials here, and though Vassar didn’t accept you, you truly are amazing and good luck with Bard if you decide to go there! You’re ultimately going to be happy & really excel where ever it is you end up.
