Vassar College for Biochemistry

How is Vassar College’s Biochemistry department? I’ve heard that students in the bio department only have the opportunity to work with plants/animals. I plan on going to med school so I’d like to do research on people.

Thanks!

But would the people like you doing research on them? The paperwork to do human trials would take longer than your college career. Most of the topics that Biochemists work on don’t start with humans. How a protein behaves in a human is often different than how it behaves in a pig.

Sorry I wasn’t clear I don’t want to be conducting human trials or something. I just want to be doing research that is solving problems that are found in humans. Like I would love to do research on animals cells to model cancer but I just don’t want to do research to identifying new plant species or new viruses that are only found in animals.
