Vassar early decision-class of 2014

Sorry I haven’t posted much on here today, my house has been crazy since that letter arrived this morning!
It was a really thin envelope with only two pieces of paper wand an envelope in it (acceptance letter, deposit information, envelope to send deposit in). Good luck to everyone, can’t wait to see this forum full of acceptances on Monday! :)

1092 - Don’t worry! I wish you luck with all of your other colleges, but I still hope to see you in August! :)

monday will be tough going through AP eng, ap gov, phsyiology, student gov’t, ap econ then ap french - i know everyone’s going to be talking about the stanford rejected/accepted statuses, but i won’t have it as hard as you guys. i get home around 3:30. i can’t wait to see the acceptances!!

yes…all of my aps are essentially in the morning before the mail comes…I think in AP Lit we will be discussing hamlets to be or not to be speech…potential foreshadowing??

oh no… cllgecrazy… you got me thinking - on monday, in ap lit, we’ll be discussing Jane Eyre’s tragic engagement… one theme: things don’t turn out the way you hope… oh no!! i’m SO nervous

I’m so jealous, HH4V, I was going to take AP French but it conflicted with my major. And my school doesn’t offer AP Econ; are you taking macro or micro?

And cllgecrazy1020, we’re closing Hamlet on Monday. Just wanted to share. And if my paper on Ophelia is riddled with the word “Vassar” in random spots, you’ll know why.

My son’s letter from Vassar arrived today and it was a one page letter that was as well written as bad news can be. He’s handling it well (realizing that’s why reach schools are called “reach”). Luckily, he’s already been accepted by two other excellent schools where he applied Early Action instead of ED.

Good luck to the rest of you!! In or not, you all have exciting adventures ahead of you!

Thanks, MamaTrauma! :]

macro!! my teacher is the best. unfortunately, i can’t say the same for my AP French teacher. just to get a taste of her class:

 1. she has de-fluented me (i know it’s not a word, but there’s always a first for everything)
 2. who said french language = french history??

because french is the last class, it’s going to be the hardest to get through

I so know what you mean. Like, right now, my proficiency is eroding because I haven’t been practicing. I used to be able to at work (“Voulez-vous essayez notre nouveau parfum?”) and I could obviously do so in class, but agh.

Do you like Macro? I wanted to take it if my school had offered it.

@MamaTrauma: awh, Vassar is a reach school for me as well. I’m really nervous thinking about it, but I’ve got my fingers crossed. That’s great news that your son has great schools to fall back on. I hope I get that lucky! I’m waiting to submit my other apps until I find out, because they’re so expensive!

I love macro! I never thought I would be so interested, but once we got down to business in class it’s so enlightening. I actually know what newspapers are talking about, now! I’m considering for the quantitative course (if i get in), i may take another econ course (maybe micro). let’s facebook - and we can comfort each other until monday

I am also in this reach category…I am really trying not to get my hopes up…but I cannot help but hope!

Haha, forreal. Facebook freakout party.

My french teacher is a lovely person. Unfortunately the rest of my class is made up of sophomores, who have no interest in paying attention, so we’re going sooooo slowly. The worst part is that it’s last period on monday so it drags on forever.

I’m debating calling my mom after school to see if the mail came. Is that a good idea?

I’m sooooo excited that ED results are finally coming out. I got in via QuestBridge a couple weeks ago, and there have been only three others that I’ve been able to find…Now there’ll be more to talk to!

Good luck, everybody! This feeling after finding out is amazing, but takes forever and a year to sink in…

jessepeters - welcome to the discussion!

If anyone has a facebook and hasn’t already added me, PM me your info and we can be facebook friends! :]

Hey Everyone:
I applied ED 1 and I really want to go to Vassar (obviously)

Anyone from the west coast? I live in Arizona and I didn’t get any Vassar mail today. :(

Hey Claire! Welcome. I’m Matt and I live next door in Nevada. No mail for me either. :/

And congratulations, jessepeters!

Montana, Facebook freakout is so going down right now. And rg, I’d call to at least ask if your letter arrived. My parents are leaving for Utah for work on Monday and I’ll have the house to myself. I don’t get home until after rehearsals by 6pm. It’d be nice to at least know that there’s a letter.

I’m from California. No mail today either. :(

Matt!
I guess we can probably expect to find out on tuesday.
I have been checking the Vassar 2014 facebook group, and when I saw someone post that they got in, I ran to my mailbox…
