Vassar Fall 2010 Transfer

Hi guys!
As far as I could tell, there's no fall 2010 transfer thread existing for Vassar, so I thought I'd start one. Im new to CC- but not to stalking the forums lol.

I applied for junior year matriculation and am very very nervous that we may be hearing TOMORROW AFTER 5PM. Are there any other transfers out there?

Yep. You’re not alone.

I’ve been stalking CC for threads on Vassar since March. I suppose I’ve lacked the initiative to start one.

woohoo a live one! Nice.

Do you really think we’re gonna find out tmw? I noticed they were very careful to say ‘starting’ friday, may 7th. That could mean May 30th, right?

The email says Beginning at 5PM EST on May 7 which, in my opinion, definitely means May 7!

And hey, I also applied to Vassar as a transfer! I think I recognize both of your usernames from the Barnard thread, lol.

yep, i also applied to Barnard! (and swarthmore and wesleyan and brown and skidmore, the latter of which has already accepted me)
what about you guys?

In addition to Barnard and Vassar, I am waiting to hear back from NYU Gallatin and Connecticut College. I got into Bard.

Good luck to you guys!! I don’t have class today so I was thinking about going to look at Bard and Vassar today with my dad.

the vassar campus is, without a doubt, the most beautiful college campus i’ve ever seen. its in the running for most beautiful place. so many flowers! I felt very at home when I visited.

I didn’t end up visiting today which worked out since I was rejected.

10 slots for 275 applicants is pretty intense-best of luck to everyone else on CC!

Accepted as a sophomore transfer! I currently attend NYU.

Right now it’s between Vassar, Tufts, and Hamilton - any thoughts?

rejected as well. sucks.

The212kid - As a mom who looked at all three schools and whose daughter chose Vassar, I obviously think Vassar rules (and would have thought so even if my D had chosen another school). But in the end, it really depends on what you want. Since you are at NYU, you are close enough to visit all three. If you haven’t done that already, I would definitely do it. Tufts was very urban and didn’t fit what my D was interested in (a “college campus” atmosphere). But everyone is different. Congratulations on having three great choices.

I also go to NYU and was accepted as a junior transfer. I’ll be visiting this Friday, which will hopefully make this decision easier as I am feeling a little intimidated about leaving NYU and starting over. Despite that, it’s pretty likely that I will end up coming here. So excited to see the campus!
