Anyone transferring for the fall semester? Is anyone reapplying to Vassar? I am reapplying as a transfer. Was deferred ED II and then rejected RD last year. Any similar cases out there?

Hey, I’m also applying to Vassar as a transfer, though as a junior…This two month wait is going to be awful!

Hey there, also applying to Vassar as a transfer! Trying not to think about the 2 months…but here I am
Where are you two from?

In origin I’m from PA, now transferring from a small LAC in MA. What about you?

I currently go to Rutgers University in New Jersey. Where do you go, kj? By the way, did any of you submit your application materials yet?

Hey Jameson and chess, I’m currently at UC Davis in CA. I haven’t submitted my app yet, though my high school counselor sent out the school form/rec materials. Best of luck to you both - these are going to be quite the two months to come!
Have either of you visited previously/plan to visit?

My application’s completely submitted (except mid-term grades obviously). I visited Vassar last month. It’s really gorgeous. I was there while it was snowing for the first time in a few weeks on the east coast; the whole place was just so lovely. Also had a really great tour/info session! It’s a great school, so good luck to both of you as well!

I’m applying for a transfer to Vassar for fall 2012. I might get to visit next week. Long drive…

dcsmiss, hope you have a good trip, and please let us know how it goes!
And Jameson, that sounds wonderful! I’ll be visiting later this month - can’t wait!

I visited a few months ago. It was a great overall experience. I met a couple of students who actually gave me a tour of the campus. The students that I met really made a lasting impression. Overall, Vassar seems to have a great atmosphere and a great group of people. Hopefully this transfer thing works out for all of us.

Gas is going to be ridiculous. I’m driving from D.C. to PA, to NYC, to MA, to NH, to CT and back. Too many schools! Lucky they’re all in New England.

chess, that sounds great. It’s awesome that you got to meet some students and get a little inside tour! And yeah, hopefully it does. It would be great to meet you all in person come fall :)

Good to hear that you had a nice visit as well, chess! This is going to be such a nerve racking two months! Pretty much exactly two months, as Vassar lets us know May 10th, correct? Out of curiosity, what are you all majoring in?

I think we’ll hear back around the 10th or so. I plan to major in philosophy. How about you?

Very nice. I’m a theater major primarily, but at one time I thought I’d also major in philosophy. I’ve since switched to just doing theater and political science. I figure I should probably have at least one semi-practical major! And besides, theater can be very political and politics can be very theatrical. :P

So glad to see this thread is still going! It’s been a great place to bounce around ideas and thoughts, and hopefully it’ll continue to be a useful sounding board throughout the next couple of months (not sure how I’ll be focusing on school once May arrives :P)

I’m planning to major in either anthropology or psychology. Though Vassar’s geography-anthropology / anthropology-sociology programs look pretty interesting too…

I wonder how many other Vassar transfer applicants there are. This can’t be all of us?

I’m an applicant for fall 2012, and can’t wait! As a transfer student, it really is vastly different from my current set up, but I am so excited for the notifications. Waiting (im)patiently… :-)

I’m applying to transfer to Vassar! The Vassar website says that most of my forms are missing, but I’m hoping that they just haven’t entered them in yet. I’m currently a freshman at Northwestern.

Still waiting on my Vassar decision. Hopefully soon.

Just got off the phone with Vassar an the receptionist told me my transfer decision would not be available until about May… Early may. I thought these were coming out late march or at the very least first week of April. She didn’t sound very sure on the phone so I dont know what to believe…
