im a pre-med maybe n i want to kno if going to a schhol like vassar or one like NYU would be more beneficial. I would also like to kno about the diversity of vassar ( im african american) and the social aspects.... i really like the school but i wanna do whats best

I think you’d get more personal attention at a school like Vassar. Not sure about the diversity. Vassar is also very prestigious.

The sciences at Smith are extraordinary. And they have a special support program for minority women in the sciences and engineering.

Well, i know that Vassar has a really high percentage of acceptance into med school, and you’d definitely get a more hands on and personal education because of the size. I have also heard that the sciences are really great at Vassar too. For the social scene, if you look at the posts in “Ask current students” above this forum you’ll get tons of info. Most people have said that the hardest part is actually picking something to do from all the offered events.
As for diversity, are you going to Focus Weekend? You’ll probably get to see for yourself there. ( Im going [im hispanic] but more so because its a great opportunity to experience the campus for 3 days )

given these three choices i’d personally pick vassar.

NYU isn’t very phenomenal (imo) except for stern. or unless you’re in love with NYC life (or the concept of it).

smith is all-girls. you may either love or hate it. spending your college years in a single-sex environment may limit certain perspectives but at the same time it opens up other perspectives. the choice is yours to make.
