Hello! I’m applying ED to Vassar this year.
I got a 1400 on my sat, which wasn’t what I wanted and I expected higher.
I’m wondering if I should submit this score to Vassar college?
My gpa is a 3.99 and I have a pretty good common app essay about how my weight loss issues got me into weightlifting and medicine. My extracurriculars are theater, music, and medicine related (Arts society president at my school, Theater since 5th grade, got into national choir, shadowed doctors and volunteered, tutored AP classes). I also have great LORS.
Thank you!
how’s your rigor? what’s your major? what’s the split on score?
Per the Common Data Set, slightly less than half of those who enroll submit - and a 1400 is well below the 25th percentile, so in that regard, no, you absolutely shouldn’t submit.
But if you’re a science or math major and haven a 750 math, maybe you should - that would be a tough call. If you are a URM and it’s somehow shown in your activities or essays, perhaps you should - but again a tough call.
It would have to be something really crazy for you to have advantage by submitting - so on paper a heck no.
But given more than half their enrolled don’t submit, it’s likely not going to hurt you. It could hurt you by submitting.
Best of luck.
