I just thought about considering a transfer to Vassar today. Does anybody know anything about the process? I know Vassar is a very-well renowned liberal arts school, regular acceptance rate of 23%, transfer or 15-20%. I know it's a very liberal and chilled-out campus and I read the stats on Princeton Review. Can somebody tell me a little more about the school or is anybody else trying to transfer up there?

First off, best of luck in your transfer applications :-)

With respect to Vassar, I personally do not believe those statistics. I think they are old. Last year for fall 2008 transfer there was a 3% acceptance rate. 320 applied and 10 were accepted. This may change, but I doubt it will move much because of the increase in freshman applicants along with their construction. Currently, they are remodeling a dorm so they really have less spots. That being said, I vaguely remember your stats and I think it would be worth applying there. Personally, I love Vassar and think it is a really incredible school. The campus is so beautiful and everyone is really friendly. Without question their academics are pretty amazing. I remember you are from NYC and you certainly won't be alone at Vassar. Also, the school is very involved with the arts. I really liked this because I am a ballet dancer and their department is awesome. I know someone who did theatre there and really enjoyed it. I am not a current student, but I have a very close friend at the school. If you have other questions I may be able to help. Good luck!

Thanks a lot, that really helps... and yep, I am from NYC and I do a lot of music (hence the name =] ), so I'll def. look into it, maybe visit over the break. Vassar's proximity to the city is definitely a plus.
