Seriously, help.

what i want:

extreme amounts of flexibility (which is what Gallatin is all about)
lots of activities to do on weekends that don't involve drinking or toking up.
happy people
an intellectually stimulating atmosphere
prestige (especially concerning job placement)
easy access to the city
free entertainment/fun
a wide range of people & talents

It would help if we knew what you were looking for in a school :)

"easy access to the city"
does vassar have that?
Both are awesome schools though!

Is financial aid an issue?

Caveat: This is just my opinion.

extreme amounts of flexibility: I'm sure Gallatin has that, but Vassar or any good LAC would be inherently flexible.

lots of activities to do on weekends that don't involve drinking or toking up: Not really sure, but I'm guessing NYC would have a plethora of activities.

happy people: Vassar! Well NYU has happy people too, but it seems more... dog-eat-dog and such. That's just a generalization.

an intellectually stimulating atmosphere: I'd have to give the edge to our good ole LAC here. Although NYU has such kids, they would be mixed in with a variety of other people.

prestige (especially concerning job placement): Vassar has good name recognition, but NYU would probably have an easier time with job placement.

easy access to the city: Uh... lol. NYU.

free entertainment/fun: Not sure how many places are free in NYC...

a wide range of people & talents: Both!

You have some great choices. The schools are pretty different in my mind, and your list of what you're looking for seems more suited for NYU. Do you know the reasons why you're holding on to each particular school?
