Hey I'm posting this for a friend. She already made her devision about this, but was wondering what other people would have done. She got into Vassar, Skidmore, and Ursinus (and our state school University of Maryland which she wasn't considering because of size) and recieved basically a full ride from Ursinus due to a few different scholarships/financial aid. And she got about 20,000 from both Skidmore and Vassar. In this situation what would you have done? What do you think would be the best decision for someone planning to major in theater? She's really just looking for some opinions and feedback. We'll tell you where picked later :)

Uumm i think I wouldve chosen Vassar, because its the college I like the most. i believe they're all three quite artsy but I know Vassar is. it just seems the most appealing. but then again, if I really needed the financial aid, I wouldve chosen Ursinus.

The choice would completely depend on the person. She should visit and see. Very different environments. I would have gone to Skidmore because I think performance opportunities are better there and Saratoga Springs is a gorgeous city, beautiful area. I was impressed by Ursinus, enough that it would have been a serious choice. I've never met a Ursinus grad that I did not like.

Yup, Vassar is super-artsy.

If $$ was no object, I would choose Vassar, hands down. It would offer a superior education, something needed for all prospective theater majors. ;)
Remember that Meryl Streep and Lisa Kudrow are Vassar grads.

I would choose Vassar as well. Although I do believe that Ursinus has an up-and-coming theater program.

Vassar absolutely. My mom went there and I applied. Great theatre dept. Great new theatre, recently built. And the academics are far superior to Skidmore, I am sure. It may be artsy and close to NYC, but its also an intellectual mecca. Two for one.

Vassar's performance programs are as good or better than Skidmore's.
