I know what the space is for, but i'd like to know examples of what some people have put in their "Your Space"? I'm not sure if I should write something like an essay, or include some photography i've done, I don't know what to put in.

I'm not majoring in art, photography, or drama or anything like that. I'm from France and have traveled all through Europe. Should I do something with that?

Advice? I really want to put something in because I want to stand out and improve my chances, but I just can't figure what would be appropriate.

Do not worry about what will get you in, just be yourself. If you feel that your photography expresses who you are, then submit that. If you feel that an essay on your travels could best represent you, submit it. It should be whatever you want to show the school so that they can better understand who you are. I am submitting an essay on the college admissions process and how it helped me discover who I was, and I will also attach some pictures of an extracurricular activity that is difficult to explain (Odyssey of the Mind).

Thank you! I think i’ll make a video about my life in Europe and what made me happy there. The travels, friends, experiences…it would represent me well.

Elie, wow that was amazing, especially the quarks part :D

Darrrnnn…everyone applying to Vassar is so talented. Now I feel like a fool for sending an additional essay on the Myspace. Still, can anyone be kind enough to read it? It would be awesome. Thanks a lot.

Thanks guys!
And Karan, I’m sure that you’re talented! Writing an extra essay for Vassar, which is so heavily focused on writing, is a good choice! And I’ll read your essay if you want :)

I’m a junior in hs but I visited Vassar and its where I KNOW I would be happiest and want to go more than anywhere else. I was just looking around for what kinds of things people put on your space because it interests me and I just like to plan for this stuff when I have free time. Good luck to everyone who applies this past year! I don’t really have any musical talents like it seems everyone else does here haha, but I was thinking/ loosely planning for next year- I love mock trial and spanish and I was wondering how you think it would be perceived if I sent one of my closing arguments from mock trial this year, but I would translate it into spanish. Would that confuse them/ come across as stupid? Haha thanks for the input!

That’s why your username’s iwantwesleyan, of course. Haha, just kidding, I applied to both. As for your idea, you can’t expect the admission officers to know Spanish. Perhaps if you sent it both in Spanish and English…
