Vassar's My Space supplement....??

Hi!, Ive been working on a video, I will upload it onto youtube and snedth e link to vassar.

But now I think it is too lame and long....do you guys have any idea or recommendations on what should the video say? How long would you recommed, so far I have 6 minutes.

If I choose not to upload it and leave that unanswered would that affect my chances?? What if I upload it and is crap? would that affect my chances??

Thanks!

I think it depends on the content? I’m bumping your post because I also have questions about Your Space…so hopefully someone who has already gotten in will stop by this thread.

Is there something that you’ve shared in your other applications that the Vassar application does not afford you an opportunity to share? You may want to consider putting that in the Your Space section because there’s a decent chance that it will help round out who you are. Certainly other AdComs find it to be relevant. And if it’s relevant and something you’re proud of and haven’t shared elsewhere in your Vassar application…then definitely consider sharing it with the Vassar AdCom.

OTOH, if your Vassar application covers all the bases that the AdComs at all the other similar colleges have covered for them to make a holistic decision, then I’d counsel against looking at the blankness of Your Space section and giving in to the irresistible urge to pull out your Crayolas to color it in. In that case, the Your Space section could spell your doom. It’s like staying at a great party about a 1/2 hour too long. What had been a great time is now a total drag and people will look at you, wondering why you showed up in the first place.

If you use it, be very intentional.
