VCU GMED decisions???

Anyone heard about the VCU GMED decisons yet. Last year the emails were out on 03/11?

Haven’t heard a thing yet. Maybe they are on spring break ??

I got in!!! Just found out today! through email directly from Dr. Chandler :)

I got an email from Dr. Chandler today.
Anyone else?

I didn’t get in…

for the people that got in
what was ur gpa and SAT scores and did you guys have any extracurricular activities?

All emails for acceptances went out on 3/19/10.

i got in a few weeks ago too! who is going for sure?

Instate here. Withdrew my acceptance from the GMED program. I am thinking of going to West Virginia University (full-ride!!!) and trying for the MedBound program with WVU School of Medicine or otherwise Georgetown University and will try as a traditional med school applicant (Loved Gtown but way to $$$$). Anyways, Good Luck Everybody!

does anyone have any positive/negative feedback on the VCU med program?

I was thinking about applying (I’m a junior) But I’m a afraid that since it’s not tier 1 or tier 2, that it will affect my chances of getting a good Internal medicine/Cardio internship.

The program looks great and the cost is affordable, but I still very unsure about applying.

Any advice on whether I should or not?

The primary reason I withdrew (despite it being super cheap as I got the full-ride to VCU and being from Richmond), was because of the contingencies to stay in the program.

^ really because I thought you were allowed to apply out after the first 4 year…
that’s why alot of the people I talked to chose VCU
I got into the GMED program as well but I’m actually leaning towards just a regular undergraduate degree at Rice University
The GMED program was very nice but I feel like I will get an overall better education at rice
and tons more opportunities…
is that crazy thinking??

ahhh kinda the same with me. got into cornell also, and another 8year, so im debating what to do. and same with the person above who said about the tier, im looking into how easy it’ll be to get into a good residency program

Withdrew my acceptance. Coming from Chestnut Hill, (Boston), Richmond was a huge culture shock to me. I will leave it at that.

I’m thinking of going to Haverford college in PA. I really want to double major in economics and psychology AND be premed, and when I mentioned this at my interview, they were not happy to say the least. And also, there is no way I can make room for all those extra requirements needed to stay in the program, if I want to do this double major and enjoy college life.
