So I saw the requirements on the VCU website for honors. I will be taking the ACT in September, and you need a 29 or up and a 3.5 unweighted GPA. I have a 3.42 unweighted GPA and a 3.76 weighted, and I feel like I can get a 30 on the ACT, and I am a president of 4 different clubs and have an award for volunteering, I basically have many good activities, so the only problem here is my GPA, but would i still not get in even though I have good extracurriculars and the required ACT score?
Most likely not. Those are requirements to apply to honors, they don’t guarantee you honors. So if it’s possible for people who do meet the criteria to not get selected for honors it doesn’t make much sense they’d dip and take someone already below the range.
