Has anyone ever been (or know someone who has been) employed by Vector Marketing before, and if so, was it profitable? I, and almost everyone I know, get contacted by them all the time and I finally got offered an interview but the entire premise seems sketchy to me especially considering you have to invest in new marketing assets (a knife set) every month for ~$400 and that isn't covered by the company. It's just hard to understand how you'd make money from this company but I've heard many motivational (yet possibly fake) success stories about working for them.

I would strongly advise you to forget about that company. It is not a legit company and has a lot of employee and customer complaints against them. This companies business model screams pyramid scheme… DO NOT DO THIS

I know a couple of people who’ve worked for them. They are legit, sorta, but the only way to make good money with them is if you sell a ton of stuff. I’d pick any other job honestly.

Don’t do it. It’s technically legit, but it’s really kind of a scam. I answered their letter, did some research (too late, alas), and they harassed me for weeks afterward.

I got 2 letters from them and I know someone who does work for them currently. The person I know was in my graduating class this past year and he called us and asked to come over to our house to show us stuff. He said he just needed practice giving his presentation of the products to us and that we didn’t have to buy anything at all. Then when he was over, he was REALLY pushy and really tried to make us buy something…it got really annoying. Then he invited himself to my graduation party…we got sooo annoyed. I don’t like that place from what I’ve seen of it.

As people have said, it’s not a full-on scam, but it’s a pyramid scheme, which really won’t make you any money and will take up a lot of your time. Not recommended.

I would advise you to stay far away from Vector Marketing. Like everyone else has said, it screams scam from miles away! While Cutco, the maker of the knives that Vector Marketing sells, is a legitimate company, Vector Marketing is not; working for them is a classic pyramid scheme.

I have a friend who “worked” for them while she was home this summer, and it was scary how much she began worshipping Vector and their “sales pitch.” I attempted to tell her that it was a scam, and she became really defensive. It was so sad how Vector pretty much became her life. She was constantly praising her managers, co-workers, going to sales events with them, etc. She even began harassing my family with calls about giving a knife demonstration. It was just mind-boggling. She essentially became a Vector zombie. It seems like those who get sucked into Vector’s “sales pitch” will do nothing short of defending the company.

I’ve even noticed a lot of these Vectorophiles will invade forums about the scam and endlessly ramble about how amazing working at Vector apparently is. It’s sad!

haha I was excited when i got the letter but did my research and found out that it is a cold scam… my friend who is doing it keeps texting me for appointments but i refuse. basically, they tell you to make a 150$ deposit on some knives, then you sell them to someone for a lot and keep a margin of the profit but it is almost impossible to find someone buying these knives and then you have to deliver them =appointments + pickups + delivery= gas = more expenses. Basically, don’t bother!
