Anyone here one?

I am for religious and personal beliefs so yeah.

Anyone here one?

I am for religious and personal beliefs so yeah.

I knew a vegetarian once, but he was crazy.
Wait, that was me!

My friends a vegetarian, but I don’t think she is too strict about it. She says she will never have a bite of a cow or pig, yet the chickens are alright to enjoy.

I know a vegetarian and we have this hate/love relationship.

His parents make him eat fish though.

^^That’s not vegetarian at all.
^That’s pescetarian or something.

I don’t know any vegans.

Although I know a group of girls who went “raw”. So they don’t eat anything that is cooked…

I’m beginning to think that it’s more for the weight loss and statement than the apparent “healthiness” of it all.

People who go vegetarian to make a statement/for political reasons always strike me as slightly annoying, no offense. However, one of my best friends has always been a vegetarian, since she was two-ish (I met her when we were three-ish, so “since two-ish” is always). Until about 8th grade she ate tuna. Only tuna, no other fish. Just out of habit. I guess one might have called her pescetarian then. She went to a farm when she was a toddler and when she got home, she didn’t want to eat any of the animals she saw there. With most parents, it probably would have ended a few days after that, but hers took her seriously, even at two.

Speaking of vegetarianism though, I just had some sot of vegetarian, Whole-Foods “Chick’n” Nugget type of thing, cooked in a vaguely Indian manner. It was good. I’m almost vegan, diet-wise, for Lent. I think the only non-vegan thing I can eat (except for on Sundays, glorious Sundays!!!) is eggs, and I actually haven’t had any in forevs. It sucks. As it should.

Vegetarians, ftw. (and i don’t eat fish nor eggs, and for me it’s really a matter of choice along with religious beliefs)

Yea, that’s how I am. I think most Indians that are “vegetarians” eat like this.

Proud veggie! I only eat eggs and that too “indirectly” when I am abroad. I realize how hypocritical that sounds so I’m trying to quit eggs as well. I’m Indian so I am vegetarian both out of choice and because of my traditional/religious beliefs. When I first went for camp my mom told me it would be ok to eat meat (rather than starve) but I really don’t want to.

Vegetarian here (personal beliefs). I’m pretty a strict vegetarian - I try my best not to eat food that contains anything derived from meat (such as triglycerides, gelatin, eggs white/yolk, etc), which is sometimes inevitable lol. I admit I drive a lot of people crazy with how picky I am with food.

I have considered going vegan before and simply live off Oreos (they’re 100% vegan!)…highly unrealistic.

^^^Not where I’m from (and I’m a Hindu).

Almost all vegetarians I know don’t eat any meat, inc. fish and some don’t even eat eggs.

@Milancad, I have to agree. It’s annoying when people go vegetarian only because they are trying to say ‘Hey, look at me. I’m vegetarian because I think it makes me look unique and diverse from my peers but it also shows that I care about animal life!’ If someone chooses vegetarianism to improve his/her outlook, then it’s stupid. If someone chooses it out of… actually wanting to do it, then it’s nice

On another note, does anyone else hate PETA?

I wonder how tough it’s going to be to avoid eggs when I go to college…looks like an impossibility :(

^I eat eggs in cake/baked goods. However, I don’t eat eggs in itself.

^^^Hate PETA? Why, what do they do? (Not disagreeing, I just have no idea what they do)

I’m for ethical treatment of animals, and I’m a person.

[random]Would it be logically consistent to be a vegetarian who eats eggs but is pro-life or a vegetarian who doesn’t eat eggs but is pro-choice?[/random]

^I agree with their morals, I just hate their way of doing things and their… extremism it sounds like.

Not having pets, not using animals for science, it goes a bit too far…

Say you want to find out if PETA is something…

You go to Google and start with "Is PETA " and what do you see?

WHAT! PETA is a terrorist organization!?!

Here’s the first search result: [Is PETA a terrorist organization? - Yahoo! Answers](http://■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/question/index?qid=20080812142819AA2Pb72)

There’s some data in the top non-best answer there.

PETA is consistently immature and it really seems like it’s ran by ten year-olds. I’ve never seen them do anything remotely mature, and worse, they detract attention from other legitimate animal organizations because PETA is too busy doing “look at us” stunts that other organizations are often over-looked.

I can’t stand PETA.
While I do believe their intent is positive and they do want to help animals, they don’t seem to stand for what they preach.

Also they’ve been accused multiple times of practicing animal cruelty themselves - not to mention the founder is a complete whackjob.

PETA had a woman strip nude for her advocate on animal rights.

It was embarassing as hell…

I’m a vegetarian. For religious reasons but I think I would be one either way. It’s a dead body, a carcass. Can’t imagine putting it in my mouth. Poor thing was walking around a few days ago…

But i’m not one of those annoying veggies who frown upon others who eat meat. It’s a personal choice.
