Vegetarian?

I’m not against eating meat. I am against the way that animals are kept before they are killed and the disgusting way in which they are killed. I would MUCH rather people eat Halal, Kosher, and free range meat than the stupid crap our mass-produced world gives us.

But I digress.

I will probably go back to eating meat at some point in my life, but it will be a cow or animal that was raised on a family farm. Not something bought at a supermarket.

^ The question is is it worse to eat an animal that had a good life or an animal which had a horrendous life… I do not know.

Animals that had a horrendous life… At least let the animal live in dignity before it’s eaten.

I went half vegan when I was 11. :3
But I couldn’t stick with it because you need meat sometimes!
There’s this girl in my class, shes a vegan, shes 5’7 and she is SKIN AND BONES!

^^^^^OMG, that reeks of Islamophobia.

Pescatarian for approx. 6 months, then went vegetarian and been that way for over a year. This was mostly for animal rights reasons. It was completely a personal choice and I don’t feel that anyone else needs to agree with my stance.

Just my thoughts :)

i dont think i’ve ever eaten a (real) meal that didn’t contain meat…

I was a vegetarian for about 3.5 years and a vegan for a year of that, for health and animal rights reasons. I started eating fish again a few months ago and chicken about a month ago. Not sure if I’ll ever end up eating red meat again - just getting myself to eat chicken was a long process, and I’m still not entirely comfortable with it, but I’m getting used to it.

hey… the article posted up by YankInLondon-- agree with millancad. unfortunately… most of the media seems to be portraying and stereotyping muslims really badly lately =[

as for the kosher/halal, im visiting colleges soon, so i’ll definitely ask around!!!

i used to own six fish when i was younger, so i refused to eat fish. i loved those fish… i had to give them to my science teacher because my family couldn’t care for them because we travelled so much. when i came back to visit him in the summer, i was like, where are the other two fish?

“What are you talking about, Bumble, you only gave me four!” I came out of his room bawling. =[

but now i eat fish-- full of omega 3 fatty acids and its apparently very good for you. i love hamour.

Wah…? o.O

^ I think he/she means some people are either are stretching the truth or he/she consideres those who eat fish not to be real vegetarians.

^ Ah OK. I was like “Can not compute…”

^^Could also have meant “How many vegetarians aren’t Indians,” from what he said in the first sentence/title text.

I just remembered how much I love vegan pizza. I had some for dinner. Yum.

^^I love the Veggie Pizzas at any store, esp. a local pizzeria.

Of course, my options are limiter-er but it still tastes amazing. ^_^

I’m pescetarian, but not really for any religious/personal beliefs. I do have pictures of abused animals hanging around my room though, so maybe a little?

^That seems more sadistic than anything.

^^I almost always get veggie pizza, but vegan pizza has no cheese and even more vegetables. I hate vegetables, but pizza makes it good.

I’m not a vegetarian, but I think there’s an exellent argument to be made for it. One girl in my youth group is a vegetarian… She’s not crazy, at least not because of that…

I’ve been a vegetarian for almost 10 months, and I am so glad I did it! I never really liked meat in the first place, so becoming a vegetarian was just a matter of going official. I’m not crazy about pushing my vegetarianism on other people and I feel like more people are crazy about pushing their meat-eating habits on me now that I am a veg. Vegetarianism is amazing for your health (…if you know what to eat on a veg diet), great for the environment, and of course, for animals. I think anyone who says being a vegetarian is not beneficial or worth doing is pretty dumb!

^ Wow, we’re pretty similar. I’m been one for a little over a year (and I can see myself become one for the rest of my life) and I’ve never actually really like meat in the first place. And I’m not the type who pushes my veg. ideas on someone else, most people don’t even know I’m a vegetarian unless they ask me. But I am sick of people who know that I am one and keeps asking me to eat meat. I just can’t eat something that I know came from a living thing.
