vegetarians ONLY

veggie burgers are yummy

good luck lyndsey!
we're going to want updates!

Wow, I didnt read this thread, just the title. All I have to say is youre making a big mistake. You know you want the meat. You desire it. You lust for it. You want that hot red barbecue sauce all over those ribs. You want it smeared all over your face. You know you want it. Dont make youself suffer. HAHA JK

But seriously, I only have Beef with lealdragon. This guy is way too liberal for his own good. Hes probably influencing his kids with these thoughts. I mean, you told me your "hot and good looking son" has been vegetarian his whole life. Hmmm I bet he decided to become a vegetarian all on his own, eh? You obviously had him believe from a very young age that eating animals is wrong and cruel. I think you should let your kids think for themselves instead of telling them at a young age what to eat and believe. I was raised catholic, but I never go to church. Why? Because I made that decision on my own. Maybe its time you let your son decide whats best for him.

I dont mean to be rude. Im just saying let your kids decide for themselves when they are four instead of having a monopoly on what they eat

Monopoly! what a fun game. I love it.

And no, Im not a pervert. I was just joking. I can already see what the next post will be like haha.

FYI, Lealdragon is a mom, not a he.

Obviously you didn't read the title since it says vegetarians only. As for children making their own decisions, that's the first thing you've said right so far. My brother had been a veg his whole life and one day decided that he wanted to try chicken. My mother, who is like the textbook vegetarian/animal lover, said he could eat whatever he wants. So it is not like he was forced to be a vegetarian. After trying chicken, he decided that he didn't like it, so he is a vegetarian again. If anyone is forcing someone to make a decision, it is you. You're the one who intruded in Lindsey’s thread, a thread that was trying to ease a transition from meat-eating to vegetarianism. The OP WANTS to be a vegetarian and that is the OP’s decision. You came here and started preaching the gospel according to meat to a person who wants to be a veg. So if anyone is trying to sway someone against his/her own will, it’s you.

Please, Hepstar. I was obviously directing my comments towards lealdragon, not you. And this is a cafe. I can participate in any discussion that I like.

I really don't care who you are directing your comments at. We vegetarians are trying to help someone who wants to be one and you come out of nowhere with your praise of meat. You posting here is like throwing gasoline onto a fire. You knew that you would be criticized in some sort of way because you said it in your last post. Do you enjoy being hated or something?

This is a cafe and I guess you do have the right to post anywhere. I think it is pretty obvious though that you chose to post this thread just to begin another “meat vs. veggie” debate. I won’t even go there because that would be giving you what you want. Whenever you see a title with vegetarianism in it, it must be like a neon sign to you. I also find it strange that you want to participate in a discussion all of a sudden. I seem to remember you banning discussion in your threads.

All of them had little disclaimers like this:

“choose what you want to be on the menu! This is a poll. All discussion should be LIMITED.” from your “What’s on the menu in this cafe” thread.

Or this:

“This will be a poll. Please try to keep discussion to a minimum, since all discussion on this website is pretty errrr.” from your “Vegetarian Conversion Thread.”

All discussion is pretty errr here. Errr as in a bunch of arguing. Thats why I try to keep it to a minimum. All you like to do is argue with me.

Im sure you dont hate me. Hate is a strong word. Thats not the liberal way.

I think its great that she wants to lose weight by becoming a vegetarian. I have nothing against vegetarians. The only thing I dont like about it is when people say we are being cruel to animals.

Now that you mention it, this CC place has been getting a tad annoying. I was excited when someone told me about it, but all it does is divert you from what you want: information. LOL i think its funny. Anyway, thats what I think hepstar.

Notice I didnt insult anyone in this post :). Thats right. Im keeping my new years resolution :)

Oh, and by the way, I said JK after I wrote my "praise of meat" speech. I guess you didnt see that.

so, is it just me or is this shastarasta character mildly retarded? Or perhaps just an emotionally stunted 12 year old boy.

oh no...its turning into one of those threads....anyway...congrats lindsay!!

"about it is when people say we are being cruel to animals."

Killing a living creature and eating it is not cruel?

even as a meat eater, I would have to agree that killing and eating an animal falls under the heading of "cruel"

Not to mention the horribly cruel conditions the animal lives in until its death.

http://www.animalfreedom.org/english/information/abuses.html

shastarasta,

The OP specifically requested that this thread not turn into an argument. How about respecting her opinion? Start your own thread if you want a flame war.

"I bet he decided to become a vegetarian all on his own, eh? You obviously had him believe from a very young age that eating animals is wrong and cruel."

Hmmmmm....this is really amusing. Uh, yeah, actually I did. I taught him that lying and stealing were wrong, too.

There is a LOT I could say here, but I will refrain, in respect to the OP's wishes to not turn this into a debate.

I will say only this: Did your parents expose you to the horrors of factory farming when you were 4 and let you decide if you wanted to be a vegetarian or eat your furry, bloody friends? Did they take you on a visit to a slaughterhouse so you could make an informed decision?

Uh-huh. As I thought.

Moving right along...

No offense, shastra, but your arguments are so feeble that they are laughable. Seriously, start a new thread if you want to debate it.

umm.... i never said anything about loosing weight. i am perfectly fine on weight. (like my bmi is like 17 or 18 or so i believe)

and uhhh hate to break it to you, but we kinda are being cruel to animals.

but i think i can solve it. IT IS A PSYCHOLOGICAL MINDSET. it is all based upon what you believe is right or wrong.

i didn't want this to become an argument okay... so lets stop aruging.

oh and thanks to everyone who said congrats!

I agree about the mindset thing. It really is like a switch being reset in the mind to no longer view a dead animal as food.

One last thing, to shastra: Moms might brag about their sons, but they do NOT refer to them as 'hot.' I never used that term; you did. I merely stated that he is not some scrawny wimp from being so 'deprived.' And, please give him some credit; at any time he could have chosen to eat meat if he had wished. It's not like it's hard to get or anything.

Lealdragon, Vegan, I see Shastarasta is acting like his old Zipdrivekid again!

^yes exactly!
