Verbal + Math

hmm…

About [the old] SAT when colleges judge a “good” SAT score, do they look predominantly at the combined score? Will they be impressed by a high score in one section (verbal or math) even if the score in the other section is mediocre? Let’s say a student gets a 800 V and a 650 M.

Also, is there any evidence that the adcoms would rather see a student do well in Verbal than in Math, or vice versa?

<p>It seems to be harder to obtain higher verbal scores statisticly.
If you are planning to study in the Humanities the verbal would be an advantage.
For Engineering it would be the opposite. Also the SAT 2 writing is a score that is weighed highly.</p>
