Verification ?

We saw on our FAFSA (in Feb) where we were to be verified. But the school gave us the financial package last week. So does that mean we are not going to be verified?
Last year we did send in some extenuating circumstance stuff which they said would be applied to this year, but would not apply to last year. So would they have likely saved that and used that info ?

I am not familiar with this particular case; however, the verification that I would assume they are talking about is checking your FAFSA against your submitted tax documentation to ensure that all of the information reported on the FAFSA form is somewhere in the ballpark. If you were using your tax information to fill out the FAFSA, then that's probably not it. However, if you reported that you had not filed yet but were going to and will be using estimates, then it would definitely need to be verified for validity.

So would they have done that automatically? We never got asked for any additional info and we got our package.

If not other information is being requested by the institution which you are attending, you should be fine. At Boston University, we call the students' homes to have them correct any information regarding the FAFSA or to send in any additional documents. So, if you are concerned about your financial aid, which I think should be fine if you've received your package, then you should definitely call your financial aid office. But, I think you should be all set.

Thank you!
