HI I’m a senior applying to Hopkins ED and for one of my ec, I listed shadowing a doctor in Korea as one of my EC. I truly did do it and I wrote specifically which hospital it was at (Joongang Hospital in Pohang, South Korea). I had to go over to korea to visit my family during sophomore and junior year summer and that’s why I shadowed their instead of in the US. When I came back, I didn’t do any further shadowing because I focused on other extra curriculars, job, and studies. Will they have a way of checking for sure? I want to appeal to them that I was productive during the summer even though I was in a different country. Please help! Thank you.
Well, they will just have to take your word for it.
However, if you really want to prove that you indeed did it, ask the admins if you can submit a translated copy of your doctor’s recommendation letter-that is, if s/he is willing to write you one. It would be authentic if the letter has some unique signature of the hospital.
Good luck!

College admission officers are not looking for proof of every single activity etc. Shadowing a doctor is a nice thing to do but certainly not something unusual that would warrant any kind of independent verification. You should be fine just putting in the information you have.
