Verizon vs. Cingular at UCLA

whats the scoop

I think socal is like.. verizon country. haha.

Yeah go with Verizon. It's got (by far) the best coverage throughout most of the state.

i like Cingular because they are GSM and just because i have Cingular. :D also Cingular (and t-mobile) have much better/cooler phones than Verizon. i hate verizon as a company...shady business practices. cingular was fine when i was at UCLA for orientation.

yea, verizon is a little shady. i get my minutes bumped up all the time, and when i call, they say they can't do anything about it until the bill comes out. okay, so basically that's a month gone. so when the bill comes out. i have a ton of minutes left. they apologize for the mistake and credit me back. but it's like a month without a cell you know. but overall, i love verizon haha. and my phone's cooler than yours vtec. aHAha.

yeah, your cracked screen is definitely cooler than my non-cracked screen. :D

also forgot...
i dont know about verizon, but for Cingular, you can get a 15% service discount every month if the account is under your name. plus you also get to deal with NBO (national business order) and NBO customer service, which is way more helpful/knowledgable than regular CS.

http://www.cingular.com/college/
put your UCLA email and zip code in the box on the right, and they will email you a personalized link to access the NBO site.

verizon has a good internet service. you know there new service. everybody seems to have it these days.

and leave me cracked screen alone! =(. when i replace my phone, it'll still be better than yours!! haha.

V-CAST? yeah, that's pretty good i'll give VZW that much. cingular should release their 3G technology in the next few months and it will be faster than V-CAST though. ;)

your phone isnt that much better. ok, so you have a better camera and video recording. i have un-crippled bluetooth meaning i can transfer pics and music to/from my phone without having to use MMS or anything...in other words completely free. IMO, thats priceless. :)

bluetooth technology smootooth technology. haha. bluetooth is cool.. but then again.. you gotta charge the headset? umm okay.. haha.

i wasnt talking about bluetooth headsets. oh right, you have verizon. the only bluetooth thing you can use with verizon bluetooth phones is headsets! they disabled file transfer! no wonder you immediately goto BT headsets, you dont know the full capability of BT technology!

haha actually.. i was talking about the razor's headset. haha. not about verizon's.

you spelled razr wrong.

ANYWAYS, back on track.

you should also look at how many of your friends and family user cingular or verizon. it would be wise to go with the same company to take advantage of M2M minutes.

yes, that's pretty good advice, since both cingular and verizon have pretty good coverage. but i must also agree with the fact that cingular's gsm phones own the fat, ugly verizon phones.... : ) i REALLY want the new ROKR iTunes phone, which just so happens to be a cingular exclusive... : )

uh... verizon has like a monopoly over the UCLA campus.

exactly. go with verizon. most of the people i know at ucla have verizon. woohoo.

yeah - verizon dominates on UCLA's campus. GSM isn't worth crap in the US.
