Very confused about paying first CARS Bill

So here I am trying to pay my CARS bill, but I'm somewhat befuddled when I press the "Pay Now" and come across a bank account info section. Does this mean I NEED a savings or checkings account to pay my CARS bill? How do I access the financial aid rewards such as the Cal Grant, loan, and Berkeley Scholarship to pay off the CARS bill? Does the following deposit itself into a savings account that I am supposed to have?

I am also curious as to how this entire thing works...

The CARS award section shows a breakdown of your tuition & fees. They are dumping your financial aid into your CARS account in phases. First to cover tuition & registration fees, next to cover housing & other misc fees, then finally the rest will post in CARS by Aug 15. You will get a refund of the excess on Aug 20. Your financial aid should cover your registration fees & you should not be coming out of your pocket. My fees have already been covered in the CARS award section. (do not confuse it w/ the f/a award section). Also you will be officially registered on Aug 10. I was really confused about how the awards post & had to call 4 times for them to explain it.

This is originally posted by luvtoolearn. I think she explains this CARS and billing process very clearly. Hope it helps.

sorry, but that didn't help answer my questions... lol

I also found their billing system is very confusing, it took me quite amount of time to figure out how it works, I wish I could have spent those time to do something more meaningful. Also it sucks that they don't accept credit card payment.

okay, apparently, the first cars e-bill statement is already cleared and taken care of by the school... if you are receiving financial aid awards.
The darn payment statement threw me off
