I’m a senior and my mother filled out our FAFSA actually over the summer. She did it mostly herself, but I’m a little confused trying to go back and get it sorted, moving the info to the 2016-2017 year, etc. When I log in through the FSA ID she made and try to start the 2016-2017 form, I see her information under “Student Demographic Information”. And I can’t change it to my information because her social security number is locked in. I know the FSA ID is supposed by thing the parent uses to sign off on the FAFSA form at the end, but I don’t know why her name is there and it seems like a real problem. Any ideas on what this could be and how to fix it?
What FAFSA did your mom complete in the summer? And why?
Can you just start a new 2016-2017 FAFSA and use YOUR username and password. Your mom will need to sign at the end using here.
This time, make sure the parent info is in the right place.
