very confused

I got redirected here about my problem that I posted on a different trend. I'm very confused what type of college to go for undergrad. Will I be at a serious disadvantage if I don't do premed for undergrad? I'm not sure what is the best option to take. I don't look brilliant on paper so I don't know if I can get into a renowned premed program. Thus I don't know if I want to do undergrad at say a science institute for instance MIT or a liberal arts school like Harvard or something. I want to go to a top the research school but don't know if that will cause me to avoid humanities. How important is undergrad?

I don't think there's a such thing as a "renowned premed program", and at least at most places, even a "premed program". Read through these:

My son in law is a resident at a top hospital and was a music major undergrad at Loyola-New Orleans. He took the classes he needed to take the MCAT and apply to medical school. He got excellent med school acceptances, too.

You can major in whatever you like and apply to med school, as long as you have completed certain courses. There is no such thing as a "majoring in premed."

I'm pretty sure there is. For example:
Undergraduate Studies - Premedicine Major: Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry: Ohio University

Whether or not you should major in it, however, is a different question.

Yea, at my University: Penn State, there is an undergrad major in the college of science entitled: Pre-Medicine. Some med school hopefuls opt for this option as the major leaves some space open for electives in the elective humanities and requires a number of bioethics courses as well as courses satisfying the Med School reqs.

The vast majority of schools don't have this though. It does exist at very few schools, but for most, it doesn't.
